When I'm Setting the Table, Which Utensils Go Where?
A five-piece place setting of flatware includes a dinner fork, salad fork, dinner knife, teaspoon and dinner/soup spoon.
Working outward from the dinner plate, on the left, place the dinner fork and then the salad fork. On the right, place the dinner knife, with the blade toward the plate, and then the teaspoon. What's Included In a Five-piece Place Setting Of Dinnerware?
A five-piece place setting consists of a dinner plate, salad plate, bowl, and cup and saucer. Boxed sets of four place settings (20 pieces) are available in a limited number of patterns.
What is the Best Way to Warm and Bake Foods In My Porcelain?
Pfaltzgraff porcelain is microwave, conventional oven, freezer and dishwasher safe. Pfaltzgraff will suggest the following when baking in your porcelain:
- Do not subject your porcelain to sudden or extreme temperature changes. Start your oven no higher than 225°F for the first 10 minutes, then increase to a temperature no higher than 350 degrees.
- Do not place hot dishes on a wet surface or handle with a wet cloth. The hot dish may break when touching the colder water.
- Do not place porcelain on direct heat, in the broiler, or under a microwave browning element.
- Always use a padded mitt when removing from oven or microwave.
- When warming in microwave, use the porcelain piece that best fits the portion size. This way, all items will heat evenly and not cause "hot spots" in your piece that could lead to crazing and cracking.
- Porcelain with a metallic rim should not be used in a microwave.

Reactive Glaze is a glazing technique used on Stoneware to create unique colors and pattern variation. Once the Glaze is applied, it undergoes a reaction under extreme temperatures during the firing process.
