Yes, by law, a person who is at least 21 years old must sign for the delivery, without exception.
Federal law requires that someone of at least 21 years of age sign for all wine shipments. If no adult is home at the time of delivery, FedEx or UPS is obliged to return the wine to its local warehouse, and then reschedule delivery.
If you have your Wine Access shipment sent to a business address, delivery usually takes place in the mid-morning and can be signed for by any adult on the premises.
At checkout, you choose your delivery date. Most orders can be shipped 2-14 days after they are placed.
Some "pre-arrival", offers — largely collectibles — are shipped directly from the cellars, and can take as long as 3 months to arrive at your door.
It depends on what you're buying and how much. On most offers, shipping is included on a purchase threshold of between 2 and 12 bottles.

We are a team of wine professionals qualified not only by our titles—Master Sommelier, Master of Wine—but by what inspired us to earn them in the first place: an unending passion for wine. Whether we are working to secure a small allocation of a single-vineyard rarity, a single case of a Grand Cru showpiece bottle, or 56 cases of a California classic, that passion is what drives us. We taste thousands of wines every year, and we stake our reputation on every bottle we select.
