Would I Receive a Termination Notice If My Match Made the Decision to Close Their Account Themselves?

No, eHarmony only sends this type of notification if the decision to close the account was made by eHarmony. If you have received this notice, eharmony can confirm that the account closure was an eHarmony decision and this action was not taken at the request of the match in question.

How Do I Change My Name As It Appears to My Matches?

To change your name as it appears to all of your matches, please email eharmony by clicking the "Click Here" link below. In your email, please include your first name exactly as you would like it to appear on the Profile your matches see.

What is the Visitors Feature?

Visitors is a feature that allows you to see which of your matches have viewed your profile page within the last 2 weeks. Once you have purchased a subscription, this information will be available on your Dasbhboard under the Visitors tab. If a match views your profile multiple times in one day, your view history will only show one view of this match. 

Also, If you are a new member or have not been very active, you may not have many views of your profile yet. Just as with communication, eharmony encourages you to give your matches time to view your profile. Completing and updating your profile and posting photos will help you get more views and communications.

Does eharmony Limit the Number Of Matches I Receive Each Day?

At eHarmony, their goal is to help you find a great relationship, which means eharmony wants to give you lots of opportunities to be smitten! With that in mind, they strive to provide new matches each day, regardless of how many matches you already have. 

Sometimes, eharmony presents you as a match to someone before they present them as a match to you. And there's a reason for that-if you received all of your potential matches at once, you might miss someone special. Just as eharmony wouldn't want one of your matches to overlook your name and profile, eharmony wants you to have the time to read and review every match you receive. eharmony provides you with compatible matches based on your most stringent match settings first, and then each day look for new matches that best fit your preferences. 

If you're not getting matches regularly, you'll want to visit your Match Preferences page and see if there are any settings there, such as distance or age that you might consider widening in order to potentially get more matches. 

Why Was My Account Closed?

The most common reason for account closure is an apparent or alleged violation of eHarmony's Terms and Conditions. Such violations include, but are not limited to: 

  • Misrepresentation of personal information such as name, criminal history, identity, address, age, or marital status; 
  • Behavior that violates their Terms and Conditions such as soliciting funds from matches, verbal or physical abuse, or infringing on a match's privacy.
  • An outstanding balance on your account due to returned payment received from your card issuer

Additionally, as stated in their Terms and Condition, eHarmony reserves the right to terminate any account at any time, for any reason or no reason, at the own discretion of eharmony.

I Have Met the Love Of My Life On eharmony! How Do I Close My Account?

Closing your eharmony account can be done via the website by following these steps once your subscription has expired: 

  1. Log into your eharmony account
  2. Click on the down-arrow next to your portrait at the top of the screen to open the Profile Dropdown menu
  3. Click the "Account Settings" link
  4. Click on the "Billing" tile
  5. Click the "Close Account" link at the bottom of the page to begin the cancellation process
  6. You will be asked to answer a few questions about your experience with eharmony
  7. Be sure to go through all steps until you receive confirmation that your account is closed has been turned off
