Manuka Doctor does not test their products on animals and their bees live happily in open, natural surrounds and are not affected by how they source their venom.
So while Manuka Doctor just love that bees naturally produce the honey and venom that help give them beautiful looking skin, they take careful steps to ensure bees are not harmed in the process. For bee venom collection, a glass pane, with a light electrical current running through it, is placed near our bees. The current attracts the bees to sting the glass, which leaves the venom on the surface. Because it’s glass, the bees don’t lose their stinger, nor are they harmed in anyway.
If you have an allergy to bee stings then Manuka Doctor will recommend that you do not use Manuka Doctor products.
Patch testing is generally recommended to see whether any ingredient causes an allergic skin irritation reaction.
