Do I Have to Book Online to Receive an E-ticket?

No. All tickets issued by Qatar Airways will be in the form of an electronic ticket (e-ticket). Qatar Airways' website is just one possible way of purchasing an e-ticket. E-tickets will also be issued for bookings made at, Qatar Airways offices, contact centres and travel agents.

Can I Change My Seat and Meal Preferences After Completing My Online Booking?

Yes, you can select or change your special meal request and seat assignment up to 24 hours before departure using the Manage a booking tab on However, this is dependent on availability and will only be confirmed upon check-in.

How Can I Use My Credit Card to Book a Ticket for Someone Else?

How is the Percentage Fee Calculated?

The percentage fee is calculated based on the all-inclusive fare i.e. the sum of the fare, taxes and any surcharges.

Does the Credit Card Service Fee Apply for All Routes?

When purchasing tickets online through or through your local Qatar Airways office or travel agent, the fee will apply for routes departing from Australia, and New Zealand.

In What Scenarios Will I Be Charged a Credit Card Service Fee?

A service fee will be added to bookings paid with a credit card for flights out of certain countries. The service fee will not be applied to additional fares or fees collected when you make changes to your booking. The service fee will also not apply to redemption bookings.

For tickets purchased using your Qmiles and cash, the service fee will only be applied to the portion paid for by a credit card.

For How Long is a Lounge Access Receipt Valid?

The lounge access receipt is valid for one year from the date of issue.

Can I Top Up My Lounge Access Receipt to Purchase a More Expensive Service?

Yes. This can be done at a local Qatar Airways sales office, airport office, or by calling contact centre.

Why Can't I See the Option to Change My Booking?

If you cannot see the option to change your booking in Manage a Booking, unfortunately your reservation cannot be changed online. Please contact the nearest Qatar Airways office to change your booking.

Common scenarios:  

  1. Booking is on-hold status 
  2. Ticket is checked-in
  3. Itinerary is too complex (some multi-city bookings)
  4. Negotiated/discounted fare (corporates, travel agents etc)

How Can I Change My Booking Online?

Log in to 'Manage a Booking' on If your booking is eligible for changes you will see the ‘Change flight’ button under ‘Flight summary’.

Can I Change My Booking After It is Confirmed?

Yes. Confirmed bookings are eligible for changes unless otherwise stated in the fare terms and conditions.

Do I Need to Pay for Changing My Booking?

Once you finalise your booking, a change penalty fees may apply depending on the original fare rules. In addition to the change penalty fees, the applicable fare difference will be charged if and when the originally purchased fare is not available for the new flights.

How Do I Change Or Cancel My Flight Reservation?

Bookings can be changed or cancelled if fare restrictions permit.

To change your booking online, go to the 'My Trips' tab on If your ticket can be changed online, the 'Modify flights' button will be displayed. After clicking this button, you will be able to select new flights, and pay any change in fees online immediately. If your ticket cannot be changed online, Qatar Airways will suggest you contact the nearest Qatar Airways office.

How Do I Go About Rebooking Or Refunding My Ticket?

Passengers who have purchased their tickets from Qatar Airways have the following options to refund their tickets:

For tickets booked on, they can: 

  1. Go to Refund requests;
  2. They can approach nearest Qatar Airways Office; or
  3. They can call the Qatar Airways contact Centre at +974 4022 0072

For tickets booked through a Qatar Airways Office or through the Contact Centre, passengers can

  • Contact nearest Qatar Airways Office; or
  • Call Qatar Airways Contact Centre on +974 4022 0072

The refund will be made to the original form of payment and the refund will be processed within 14 - 28 days.

Passengers who have purchased their Qatar Airways tickets through a Travel Agency can request their refund from the issuing Travel Agent.
