Teachers Pay Teachers FAQ

I Think I Was Charged Twice Accidentally, What Should I Do?

This sometimes happens when a browser is refreshed during the checkout process. Just contact Teachers Pay Teachers and they will be sure to get this resolved for you!

What is TPT’s License Policy?

At this time, licenses on Teachers Pay Teachers are for individual teachers only. An Individual License is a license that may only be assigned to a single specific user, the “Assignee," for that user’s lifetime use. Individual Licenses are non-transferable and may not be used by or reallocated to a different Assignee. For example, a teacher who purchases an Individual License can use such resource for her or his lifetime but cannot transfer use of the resource to another teacher after her or his retirement.

How Does TPT for Schools Work?

TpT for Schools makes it easier for you to collaborate with your colleagues, make curriculum decisions together, and simplify school-funded purchasing on TpT. A school administrator can register your school for TpT for Schools using their existing TpT account (or by creating a new account for free). That administrator can then manage teacher invites, school purchasing, and license distribution from the My School portal of their TpT account.

What If a Buyer Asks Me a Technical Question?

If a Buyer asks you a technical question you do not know the answer to, please ask them to click Contact Us at the bottom of any page on the site to open a ticket. TPT is happy to help troubleshoot any technical issues and hardware problems!

If the Buyer rated you poorly or gave you a bad comment based on a technical problem on their end, please let TPT know so htey can assist them and delete the comment and rating — it will not affect your average.

Can I Post the Same Resource With a Different Title?

No. To help avoid Buyer confusion, please don’t post the same resource more than once. If there are substantive differences that truly change the nature of the resource, feel free to post as a separate resource and clearly outline the differences in your resource description.

If it’s brought to the attention that a Seller has been posting duplicate resources, TPT will reach out and ask that Seller to remove them.

This prohibition does not apply to posting resources combined into bundles, although the Seller should be as clear as possible about what the bundle contains to avoid confusion.

A Product On TPT Violates My Copyright. What Should I Do?

For copyright violation claims, please follow the instructions outlined in the Copyright Policy page of TPT.

You'll want to be sure to include all of the required pieces of information listed. You can either use the form, or submit your own written notice to their Copyright Department by emailing copyright@teacherspayteachers.com.

If your notice contains all of the appropriate information, then TPT will promptly remove or disable access to the infringing material. Also note that the same page includes information on what to do if any of your products are removed due to alleged copyright infringement.

What If My Product Contains More Than One File?

If you want to include more than one file in your product, you'll need to ZIP it up: Put all of the files into one folder, then compress the folder into a single ZIP file. Then, upload this ZIP file as your product file.

How to create a ZIP file on a Mac:

  1. Make a new folder and name it appropriately.
  2. Put all of your product’s files into this folder.
  3. Highlight the folder. Then, in the top menu bar on your desktop, go to "File" and select “Compress [folder name].”
  4. This will create a zipped version of your folder. Upload that ZIP file to your new product form.

How to create a ZIP file on a PC:

  1. Make a new folder and name it appropriately.
  2. Put all of your product’s files into this folder.
  3. Right-click the folder you want to compress.
  4. Choose "Send to" and then "Compressed (zipped) folder."
  5. A zipped version of your folder will appear in the same location. Upload that ZIP file to your new product form.

I Live Outside Of the U.S. Can I Sell On TpT?

Yes! TpT is an open marketplace and they welcome Teacher-Authors from around the world. A large portion of TpT Sellers and Buyers are English speakers, so many of the resources you’ll see posted on the platform are in English, but you’re more than welcome to post resources in any language.

Before you begin selling with TpT, you should be sure that you’ll be able to collect your earnings. TpT will use PayPal to deliver your earnings, so you’ll want to set up a PayPal account and ensure that PayPal services in your country are enabled for receiving payments.
