How Do I Make Changes to an Existing Insurance Policy Details Like Policy Maximum Or Deductible After Purchase?

After the policy start date, the policy maximum and deductible cannot be changed. So, in order to make changes to the policy maximum or deductible after the policy goes into effect, you would have to cancel your current plan and purchase a new plan.

Can I Renew an Insurance Policy After It Has Expired?

Generally once a policy has expired, you cannot renew it and will need to purchase a new plan. We recommend renewing a policy at least two days before it expires to ensure you are fully covered.

You can find renewal specifications in your policy brochure. There should also be a link to the policy details in the confirmation email you received. However, not all policies are renewable.

Can I Add a New Member to My Policy After Purchase?

If you have already purchased a travel insurance policy, you cannot add a new member to the plan. However, you can certainly purchase a new policy for the additional member. For help or recommendations, feel free to reach out to our team of licensed insurance experts at 1.866.384.9104 or support@visitorscoverage.com.

Is There a Monthly Payment Plan for Travel Insurance?

You can choose to either pay the amount up front in full, or purchase the plan for 1 month initially, and then continue to renew it for a maximum period of 12 months. The downside to renewing the policy is that the renewal fee is $5 each time and you must make sure to renew your policy before it expires.

How Does the Deductible Work?

The deductible is the amount that you are responsible to pay before the insurance benefits start paying for the treatments or services.

If you choose a zero ($0) deductible, that means you are not required to pay any deductible and your benefits start immediately. If a plan pays 80% for the first $5,000, and 100% after that, this means that the insurance pays 80% for your first bills of up to $5,000.

I Made Mistakes On the Travel Insurance Application. How Do I Make Changes to a Travel Medical Insurance Policy?

You can always make corrections to your policy before the policy start date, while only certain other changes can be made after the policy begins. For corrections in policies, we ask that the insured sign into the Customer Portal and adjust policy details online. You will need your policy number and the insured's date of birth.
