Even though SpiritAirlines loves animals, they do not allow pets to travel internationally. SpiritAirlines does allow service/emotional support animals, though. Depending on the international destination, specific documentation regarding the service/emotional support animal may be required. Customers should contact the appropriate consulate or embassy prior to departure to ensure they have all necessary documents and all appropriate procedures are followed.
If traveling with an emotional support animal, a letter from your physician is still required as well.

Spirit Airlines will give you the freedom to purchase only the things you really want during your trip. So, if you want to guarantee that Big Front Seat with extra leg room or stake your claim to that 5A window seat, go for it! Seat assignments start at just $5 per seat and vary by route and location in the aircraft. Or save more by letting us assign you a random seat assignment at check-in for free.
Don’t care where you sit? Spirit will randomly assign you a seat at check-in for free, but Spirit Airlines can't guarantee that you'll get to sit with your friends or family. You can purchase a seat assignment and choose the seat you really want. Seat assignments start at just $5 and vary according to specific routes and location in the aircraft. For a little bit more, a Big Front Seat™ comes with extra legroom.
You can view seat prices for your flight on the Seats page when you book online, in My Trips or Online Check-in (within 24 hours of departure).
To keep ticket prices (Bare Fare™) low for everyone, SpiritAirlines charges for carry-ons and checked bags. SpiritAirlines charges more for checked bags over 40 lbs. This is because the added weight requires more gas for the plane. One personal item that fits entirely in the smaller sizer box (like a purse, small backpack, etc.) is included with your ticket. Another personal item or anything larger like a standard carry-on or checked bag will need to be paid for.
PRO TIP: If you know you’re going to need a carry-on or a checked bag, buy it right when you book your flight to save major moola.
