Why Was My Credit Card Declined?

For your protection and security, PepBoys runs each credit card order through an authorization process before any amount is charged to the card to prevent unauthorized purchases. Sometimes a credit card may be declined due to various reasons. Credit cards are sometimes declined because the customer's information doesn't match what the credit card company has on file. This is often due to a simple clerical error or mistyping. If your card has been declined during the online checkout process, you will receive error message asking you to correct any errors or call Customer Service. You may need to contact your credit card company for more specific details on why your card was declined.

Can I Use a PepBoys Gift Card As Payment for My Online Order?

Presently, Pep Boys Gift Cards are not available to be used towards online order payments.

When is My Credit Card Charged At PepBoys?

You credit card is charged at the time of in-store pick up.

What Credit Cards Does Accept? accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. accepts PayPal and Pep Boys Gift Cards for Ship to Home orders only. PepBoys does not presently accept personal checks, Pep Boys CarCareONE Credit Card, or Rewards vouchers as payment for online orders. Are There Any Time Restrictions On When I Will Be Able to Pick Up My In-store Order?

You can pick up your in-store order any time after you have received your email notifying you that your in-store order is ready for pick up and during normal operating hours of your selected store. During holidays and extreme weather conditions, please call your selected store to confirm the store hours.

Can I Pick Up Items From My Order At Different Stores?

No. All pick up in-store orders are only valid for the selected store at the time of checkout. 

How Long Will It Take for My In-store Order to Be Ready for Pick Up?

Most items will be ready for pick up within minutes of order placement. Items that have limited inventory or availability at your selected store take additional time to ship from our warehouses to your store location. Expected time for availability is displayed for each product on As soon as all items in your order have been processed, you will receive an email letting you know your order is ready for pick up.
